Villa Nera, Triás / Paros island
Set on the southern coastline of Paros, this contemporary sanctuary overlooks the island of Antiparos and across towards the blue horizon of the Aegean sea. The design responds directly to the site’s west-facing orientation, offering uninterrupted views of the sunset while seamlessly integrating with the island’s rugged topography.
Located in Agkeria, the villa strikes a balance between seclusion and accessibility, providing a peaceful setting close to the island’s beaches and traditional settlements. The architectural approach emphasizes privacy, openness, and a strong dialogue between the built form and the landscape.
The residence is organized around a series of six en suite bedrooms and a central open-plan living space where the kitchen, dining area, and lounge unfold as a continuous interior. Large openings and carefully positioned thresholds extend these spaces outward, establishing fluid transitions between inside and outside. The layout prioritizes both communal living and individual retreat, accommodating larger groups without compromising intimacy.
Drawing from the Cycladic vernacular, the villa combines traditional dry-stone construction with clean, contemporary geometries. A restrained material palette of natural stone, whitewashed surfaces, and subtle textures creates a calm and cohesive architectural language. The interiors are defined by simplicity, light, proportion, and a level of detail that that emphasizes luxury, comfort and an understated refinement.
Outdoor living is integral to the design. A 104-square-meter swimming pool anchors the exterior, accompanied by shaded terraces, pergolas, and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen. These elements are arranged to support a sequence of daily rituals, from quiet morning use to social gatherings at sunset. The landscape design strengthens the connection of the building to the site, enabling the architecture to blend into its natural surroundings.
